What do I get?

You’ll receive a full colour, mounted and framed, digital painting shipped to your door. Please note at the moment we only ship to the UK (see shipping policy).

How do you paint the portraits?

The portraits are digital paintings, meaning that they're painted in Photoshop with a pen onto a screen.

I start by composing photographic elements and angles. Then I’ll painstakingly fix any issues with your pictures, sometime replacing elements or even whole bodies. This is where I’ll bring in cutting-edge art techniques and technologies, such as AI. Using these technologies speeds up the process and helps to keep prices competitive. However, portraits are never created by just typing a prompt into a computer. I’ll never paste your image onto someone else's artwork and I don’t use old masters. The portrait you get will be unique, composed and painted by hand.

Your pictures look like photos. Why call them 'portraits'?

I choose to work in a realistic style, with photos as my starting point. However, every portrait is hand-painted, with a ton of enhancement and custom fixing, as well as background replacement and other services. If you’re looking at my pictures on a phone, they can look like photos – but if you view them on a bigger screen, you’ll notice the difference. WORKING WITH YOU

How do you work with customers?

We want the process to be easy, quick – and fun!

First, we have a conversation – either by email or over the phone – whatever you prefer. You send me the photos you want me to use, and I’ll listen to your ideas. Then I’ll make some recommendations, and, once you’re happy with the approach and the price band, I’ll send you a link for you to place your order.

That’s when I start work. Within a few days you’ll receive your portrait on email. Most people are delighted first time, or request one round of changes. Once you’re happy, great, we'll print it, frame it and send it to you.

How do I know if my photos are good enough for you to make a portrait?

Get in touch. I can work miracles most of the time, but if your photos are of such poor quality that I don’t think you’ll get the result you’re after, I’ll always tell you beforehand.   

Will you make changes if I don't like my portrait?

Yes, of course. While I always aim to get it right first time, many of my customers ask for one round of changes.

How long does it take to get my portrait?

We love to work quickly. Once I have your photos, I can usually paint your portrait within three to four working days. We aim to get it printed and shipped as within a few days of your final sign-off.

I have an idea for a different type of picture – can you do it?

My long-standing experience in the entertainment and video game industry means I can tackle pretty much any subject matter! So get in touch and let’s talk.

I'm confused. Can I talk to a human?

Yes! The contact page has a telephone number (no automated menus), email, and a place where you can upload your questions / photos. I promise to be fully human when you speak with me!

ORDERING AND PRICING

How do the price bands work?

We want our pricing to be transparent. With our price bands you’ll know, up front, exactly how much your portrait will cost. Price bands are calculated according to the complexity of the picture – for example, number of people and whether we’re designing new and complicated backgrounds and costumes.

Do I have to pay 'up front' to commission a portrait?

Yes. I’ll always offer free advice and guidance upfront, but you’ll need to place an order before I start work on your picture.  

Can I cancel my order?

If you cancel your order before I start work on your portrait, I may be able to arrange a refund.

What size should I buy?

The bigger the better, I would say! But, realistically, it depends on the amount of wall space in your house. Do you want to make a big impact, or would a smaller image freestanding on a surface be better? If it helps, you can mix and match, and order extra copies at larger or smaller sizes.

SHIPPING, RETURNS & EXCHANGES

What’s your shipping policy?

When you place your order, you’ll receive a confirmation email. Once your order is fulfilled, you will receive an email notification with your tracking information (shipping is free within the UK but exceptions may apply).

Do you ship overseas?

We only supply framed portraits to the UK at present. But if you want a print-quality digital-only portrait, contact me.

What if my portrait has a breakage?

We're very careful with our quality control but in the event that glass has been broken or a frame is damaged, contact us and we’ll send you a replacement.
